Renee Hancock

Renee Hancock has been working for Nebraska NRCS for 14 years. She is the state water quality specialist and NRCS/NDEQ liaison in addition to work as the state TSP coordinator. Prior to NRCS, she worked 13 years for the Nebraska Dept. of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) in the water, livestock waste control and air quality compliance sections.
Hancock assists the state agronomist with nutrient and pest management and the water quality team with AFOs and comprehensive nutrient management plans (CNMPs). She works with both EQIP and CSP programs. In the past three years, she has been part of a planning team for NWQI, developing two plans in the Big Sandy Watershed and Turkey Creek Watershed/Wilber source water protection dealing with Atrazine and E. coli. NRCS has collaborated with NDEQ, UNL Extension, NRDs, NDA, etc. on these NQWI plans.
Previously, Hancock conducted and assisted with training for field office staff, consultants and TSPs in conservation planning, nutrient management, CNMPs, integrated pest management and prescribed burns plans. She coordinated the Regional NAQSAT training held in Nebraska in 2015. She's also responsible for answering field office staff questions on EQIP and CSP and assisting them with reviews for CNMPs, nutrient and pest management. She has also assisted with the funding for emergency mortality management (2019 spring snowstorms and floods) and educating staff/public on composting deads.
